Blake-Hammond Education Online Test Service

Although most web browsers have Javascript and Cookies enabled by default, as an extra measure of security these are occasionally disabled.

For the Online Test Service software to run successfully, your browser must have Javascript and cookies enabled. For those who are unsure of how to check whether you have the required settings in either Internet Explorer or other browsers, the following is a short guide:

 Enabling Javascript in Internet Explorer
 Enabling Cookies in Internet Explorer
Enabling Javascript in other web browsers
Enabling Cookies in other web browsers

Enabling Javascript in Internet Explorer

Open Internet Explorer and click the 'Tools | Internet Options' menu item.

The 'Internet Options' dialog box will now be displayed. Select the Internet icon and click the 'Custom Level' button.

You will now be presented with the 'Security Settings' dialog box. Scroll down until you see the 'Scripting' section. If the 'Active scripting' setting is not set to 'Enable', select this option and click OK.

Alternatively, you can specify the Blake-Hammond as a trusted site, and enable Javascript specifically for trusted sites only. To do this, select the 'Trusted Sites' icon and click the 'Sites' button.

You will be preseneted with the 'Trusted Sites' dialog box. Enter 'http://www.bh-ed.co.uk in the 'Add this Web site to the zone:' text box and untick the 'Require server verification' check box. Click the 'Add' then 'OK' buttons.

From the 'Internet Options' dialog, with the 'Trusted Sites' icon still selected, you should then click the 'Custom Level' button and set 'Active Scripting' as described previously.

The 'Options' dialog will now be displayed. Tick the 'Enable JavaScript' option and click the 'OK' button.

In some browsers, you may be presented with a security warning, as in the following image.

Upon clicking the warning, you will be presented with three options. Click 'Allow Blocked Content'.
